| Dr Reza Kordnezhadian

Reza was born in Shiraz, Iran, and earned his BSc in Pure Chemistry (2015) and MSc in Organic Chemistry (2018) from Shiraz University. During his MSc studies, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ali Khalafi-Nezhad, he focused on the multi-component synthesis of heterocycles using environmentally benign catalytic systems. In 2021, Reza joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Wim De Borggraeve at KU Leuven as a PhD candidate. His doctoral work centered on developing gas cylinder-free strategies to advance the chemistry of fluorinated sulfur and iodine compounds. He successfully defended his PhD at KU Leuven in 2025. Following his PhD, Reza joined the group of Dr. Eng. Tomasz Wdowik, where he is currently investigating the late-stage C–H functionalization of complex molecules aided by single-atom editing approaches.
