2nd Warsaw Chemical Symposium “W ProbUWce”

Category: Conferences

On April 13th, Dr. Eng. Wojciech Danowski was a guest speaker at the 2nd Warsaw Chemical Symposium “W ProbUWce”, where he delivered a presentation titled “Shining Light on Porous Solids.”

In his talk, Dr. Danowski discussed how synthetic molecular machines — designed to mimic the motion of their biological counterparts — can be embedded in porous solids to enable controlled, collective behavior. While most artificial molecular systems are studied in dilute solutions, this research focuses on organizing and synchronizing them within solid frameworks. This approach not only stabilizes their function but also allows for tuning the macroscopic properties of materials using light. The presentation covered both rigid and flexible materials, including complex multistate materials.

The scientific committee for the symposium included Prof. G. Litwinienko, Dr. A. Krogul-Sobczak, and M.Sc. P. Cieciórski from our lab.
