Welcome to Our New Team Member!

Category: Important events, New members

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Tomek Wdowik has joined our laboratory team!

Dr. Wdowik defended his PhD at the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA), where he conducted  research on aerobic copper-catalyzed reactions of alkenes under the supervision of Prof. Sherry R. Chemler. Following this, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Göttingen (Germany), investigating enantioselective electrochemical C–H activation under the guidance of Prof. Lutz Ackermann. In 2021, Dr. Wdowik worked in Prof. Dorota Gryko’s group (IOC PAS), focusing on red-light-induced functionalization of biomolecules and vitamin B12-catalyzed reactions.

This November, he has embarked on an independent research project Sonata, titled

Late-stage C–H functionalization of complex molecules aided by single-atom editing,

funded by the National Science Centre (NCN).

We are excited to have Dr. Wdowik on board and look forward to the contributions he will bring to our team! Welcome, Tomek! 🎉
