Check out our new paper written by dr Agnieszka Krogul-Sobczak and co-authors from University of Wrocław, Wrocław Medical University, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences and University of Lisbon published in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces:
Silver Coordination Polymers Driven by Adamantoid Blocks for Advanced Antiviral and Antibacterial Biomaterials
The authors have developed an effective method for synthesizing new biologically active silver(I) coordination polymers, which were utilized as bioactive additives in multifunctional polymer-starch composites. The resulting materials are characterized by antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, exhibiting exceptionally high activity against the human herpes virus HSV-1, adenovirus HAdV-5, and Gram-negative bacteria.
