Category: Important events
On January 9th, the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Ben L. Feringa, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, who delivered the lecture “The Art of Building Small” in the main auditorium. Prof. Feringa, awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry together with Jean-Pierre Sauvage and Fraser Stoddart for the design and synthesis of molecular machines, presented an inspiring overview of the concepts that shaped modern molecular nanotechnology.
Prior to the lecture, Prof. Feringa met with students of our Faculty for an engaging and open discussion, offering insights into scientific career, creativity in research, and the challenges of working at the frontiers of chemistry. During his visit, Prof. Feringa also held a productive scientific meeting with Prof. Paweł W. Majewski, Prof. Wiktor Lewandowski, and Dr. Joanna Jankowska, focused on current research directions and potential future collaborations.
The visit was an important and memorable event for our academic community.
