Tomasz received his MSE from the Warsaw University of Technology in 2011 while conducting research with Prof. Karol Grela at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (IOC PAS). In 2012, he moved to the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA) as a Fulbright Scholar to pursue his PhD. Under the supervision of Prof. Sherry R. Chemler, he worked on aerobic copper-catalysed reactions of alkenes and defended his thesis in 2019. For his postdoctoral studies, Tomasz joined the University of Göttingen (Germany), where he investigated enantioselective electrochemical C–H activation under the guidance of Prof. Lutz Ackermann. In 2021, he returned to IOC PAS to work with Prof. Dorota Gryko on red-light-induced functionalization of biomolecules and vitamin B12-catalyzed reactions. In 2024, as a recipient of the National Science Centre SONATA grant, Tomasz has begun his independent research career, focusing on integrating single-atom editing approaches with C–H activation.
