Team Awards in Radiobiology

Category: Prizes, Publications

We are pleased to share that our long-term collaborator Mjr. Dr. Jacek Grębowski has been recognized with two team awards granted by the Polish Radiation Research Society (PTBR), both received together with his co-workers, including Prof. Grzegorz Litwinienko and Dr. Piotr Piotrowski.

  • 1st Degree Team Award in Radiobiology – for a series of three scientific papers on the antioxidant and potentially radioprotective effects of fullerene and metallofullerene molecules in models of oxidative stress induced by ionizing radiation.

  • 2nd Degree Team Award in Radiobiology – for a series of two review papers on the biomedical and radiotherapeutic applications of fullerenols.

Since 1971, PTBR has been awarding prizes for the best research in the field of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in biological and physico-chemical sciences. The awards are presented every three years during the Society’s Congress and take the form of a commemorative statuette and diploma. Over 200 scientists, including more than 30 from abroad, have received these honors so far.

Congratulations!
